The United Way Suncoast Financial Coaching Program trains and partners volunteers with individuals who are ready to take control of their financial situation.

Together they collaborate on the development of an action plan and appropriate steps needed to achieve their financial goals.

Need help with budgeting, understanding your credit report or every day savings tips? Financial coaching may be good for you. You will be paired with a trained volunteer coach in your community to work on the areas you choose. The relationship and topics will be chosen by you. The coach-client partnership should last a minimum of six months and you will meet with your coach once per month for about an hour. Apply to be matched with a financial coach to help navigate challenges and issues to achieve financial stability. (A Program Coordinator will follow up with you after review of the application)

As a United Way Financial Coach, you’ll be paired with motivated individuals to help them navigate through financial crisis, build a working budget, eliminate debt, establish a plan for college or retirement, and manage other financial challenges they face.

Financial coaching is a great way to develop a meaningful relationship with someone in your community while helping to spread important information about financial literacy and planning. While no previous experience is necessary, an interest in personal finance, budgeting, banking or economics is helpful for this role.  Once you complete the application, a Program Coordinator will contact you and you will receive a list of training dates.  After you complete the 6-hour training curriculum, you will be paired with a client.  The coach-client relationship should last a minimum of six months and you’ll be expected to meet with your client once a month for an hour. Apply today to help change a life.
