The Young Leaders’ Society held its Summer 2019 OnBoard Workshop in June. The one-day boot camp taught young professionals the ins and outs of becoming a board member of a non-profit organization. This intensive all-day workshop focused on topics including governance, fundraising, finance, public policy, advocacy, and how to find your fit. Participants had the opportunity to connect with trusted nonprofits actively seeking volunteer leadership.
In addition, they learned more about ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families across the Suncoast and the economic state of the Tampa Bay region.
Each of the 14 graduates of the program received a certificate of completion from United Way Suncoast and connected with past OnBoard alumni to continue building community connections.
We would like to thank EY for providing the space, our OnBoard participants, and speakers Brad Frank, Doug Griesenauer, Dave Sobush, Brian Deming, Candy Olson, Dave Walker, Becky Pickett, Stu Rogel, and Suzanne McCormick for a very successful day of learning.
