Joseph Bailey isn’t on the United Way Suncoast payroll but you could be forgiven for thinking he is. Volunteer, Committee Member, Campaign Coordinator, LINC and Admiral Society member – he’s done it all.
His first experience came as a volunteer after he and his wife moved to Tampa in 2004. Eager to explore their new community, they discovered HandsOn Tampa Bay, United Way’s volunteer network, which he says, “provided a fantastic platform for us to engage in volunteer opportunities across the region.”
He further explains, “As we continued to volunteer and witness the incredible work being done by UWS, our involvement deepened. I had the privilege of serving within the corporate campaign committee at EY, where I was able to contribute to the annual fundraising efforts and support the organization’s mission. This experience further solidified my commitment to UWS’s cause and led to my role as the executive sponsor of our corporate campaign and Digital Divide initiatives, focusing on bridging the technology gap in underserved communities in partnership with UWS.
Motivated by the desire to make a broader impact, I became involved in UWS’s Community Impact efforts. I actively participated in Community Investment and Summer Care committees. This hands-on involvement allowed me to witness the tangible difference that UWS was making in the lives of individuals and families in need.”
Earlier this year Joseph joined the Admiral Society Advisory Council, providing him with the opportunity to collaborate with other dedicated professionals who share a passion for creating positive change. Through his involvement he continues “to be inspired by UWS’s unwavering commitment to improving lives and building a stronger, more equitable community.”
And United Way Suncoast is inspired by all the caring individuals like Joseph and other Admiral Society members who make our work possible.
