Herald-Tribune: United Way Suncoast commits $3 million to help families amid an eviction crisis

The United Way Suncoast announced a $3 million commitment to ramp up efforts helping families impacted by the ongoing eviction crisis – a crisis compounded by skyrocketing rents and a worsening shortage of affordable housing.

Since the start of the pandemic, the five counties of Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, Hillsborough and Pinellas that fall under United Way Suncoast have seen rising evictions – including almost 19,700 eviction filings in Hillsborough and Pinellas alone, the nonprofit noted.  Click on the link below to read more.
