You’re invited to a presentation on the newly released 2018 ALICE Report presented by United Way Suncoast and Women United

43% of households in our region struggle to pay for basic needs such as housing, child care, food, transportation, health care, and technology. We call this population ALICE. ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.

They are households earning above the poverty line but not enough to cover the most basic of needs like food and housing. Increases in everything from child care to health care continue to plague a family’s ability to save or prepare for unexpected financial setbacks, even when working a 40-hour-a-week job.

Why attend?

The ALICE Report is important because it helps create a shared understanding of the economic challenge across the nonprofit, government and business communities and inspires us all to work on issues that are holding people in our communities back. The ALICE Report shows us that, although economic recovery is happening in our community, it’s not happening equally for everyone.
