Message from Women United Chair

2020 has been quite a year for all of us. I know that in the hardest of times, we need community most and during times like this- I am grateful for each of you. You have remained a steadfast supporter of United Way, and although you are very familiar with the challenges of ALICE families- you aren’t numb to understanding the pain that so many of our first responders and frontline employees face.

These unprecedented times have made those burdens our ALICE families carry even heavier, we know particularly for young people who are navigating virtual learning and working to gain financial stability during these hard-economic times. Because of your support, United Way Suncoast has been able to provide meals, emergency shelter, help with utility bills, mental health needs and so much more. See our 2020:COVID-19 and Beyond story for more details of the work being done as we continue dealing with this crisis.

I hope you will continue to be involved in Women United this year through attending an upcoming program, joining one of our committees or remaining connected through volunteerism.

Lastly, I ask that you continue to keep the United Way in your thoughts through this challenging time- the need in our community is greater than ever! If you have not made your 2020 gift to United Way, I hope you will make your leadership gift today or later in the year through your workplace campaign.
