United Way and our community partners understand that working toward affecting lasting community change is critical to the future health of our families. We employ proven programs which enable job seekers to receive training in employment sectors which will provide a sustainable living wage. We also offer community coordination and services to connect families to needed resources.
College and Career Center (The CUBE)
In partnership with the Education Foundation of Sarasota County and the Sarasota County School District, United Way will staff a College and Career Center called the CUBE. Our collective objective is to introduce middle performing, low-income students to life skills development, college preparation, and cultural/financial integration. The CUBE will work in tandem with BMRC to engage families and help create a more nurturing learning environment for students and parents. We will assist families with identifying educational goals and create a pathway for students to thrive academically. The CUBE will also offer parent engagement workshops, high school orientation programs, college prep and career exposure. United Way staff and its partners will work with students to offer employment awareness and help them to connect academics to real world post-graduate experiences.
