Bronwyn Beightol will serve as interim area leader during the search

SARASOTA, FL: United Way Suncoast is looking for its new Sarasota Area President.

“The search for our next Sarasota Area President is underway,” said David Ford-Coates, Chairman of the United Way Suncoast Sarasota Area Board. “A search team has been formed and we have a clear idea of the leadership qualities and experience we are looking for.”

Suzanne McCormick, CEO of United Way Suncoast, and the Sarasota Area Board for United Way Suncoast are working together to identify top candidates to fill this vital position. “The role will continue to be based from the existing United Way office in downtown Sarasota and will provide local leadership for United Way Suncoast’s work in youth education and financial stability across Sarasota and DeSoto counties,” said McCormick. Last year, United Way Suncoast invested $2.2 million in Sarasota area community initiatives. *

During the search period Bronwyn Beightol, Manatee Area President for United Way Suncoast, will support the Sarasota work as interim leader. Her experience and familiarity with Sarasota and the surrounding communities will help ensure strong transitional leadership and program continuity.

Interested parties should contact Tracie Hill at thill@uwsuncoast.org.

Ford-Coates added, “We are fully committed to breaking the cycle of generational poverty here in our community and across the region. We want to see every family have the opportunity to get ahead financially and every child achieve his or her full potential.”

The position was previously held by Mireya Eavey, who resigned to pursue formation of an independent 501c3 organization to serve the greater Sarasota area.
