As our annual HandsOn Day of Service draws closer, volunteers are needed. This year, opportunities are available in Hillsborough and Manatee Counties. If you haven’t registered as a volunteer before, don’t worry. Sign up is easy. We hope you can join our team at one of the projects!
Ed Medard Park (Plant City)
Join HandsOn Suncoast, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and Hillsborough County Conservation Parks at Ed Medard Park on Saturday, April 14 for a conservation cleanup! Volunteers will be clearing litter from the trails and shoreline (with canoes). Closed-toe shoes and protective/comfortable clothing are required for this project, and it is recommended to bring a hat and/or sunglasses.
Gloves, bottled water, trash bags, bug spray, sunscreen, tools and supplies will be provided, along with a limited number of canoes.
The Food Bank of Manatee (Bradenton)
Please join us at The Food Bank of Manatee. Most of the volunteers will be sorting food, while others may be building boxes, stocking shelves in the emergency pantry area, or bagging pet food and/or diapers to send out with the emergency baskets.
Please dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes, as it is a working warehouse. Water will be provided. The building is the 2nd warehouse behind a large gymnastics warehouse. Volunteers can park on the North side of the building.
